Teebillz Opens Up About Welcoming Daughter’s Boyfriend at 18
Music Executive Advocates Open Parenting, Says Trust and Guidance Prevent Rebellion

Popular Nigerian music executive and talent manager, Tunji Balogun, also known as Teebillz, has said that he has no regrets about welcoming his 18-year-old daughter’s boyfriend into his home, explaining that he prefers to guide his children through life rather than control them.
The father of four made this known on Sunday, via a post on his official Instagram page, where he shared his thoughts on modern parenting and how trust plays a major role in raising responsible children.
“I’m very proud to welcome my daughter’s boyfriend to my home at 18 rather than caging her to be rebellious,” Teebillz wrote.

He explained that too much control can push children into rebellion, especially in today’s world where they are exposed to so much information and experiences from an early age. He believes in being intentional about parenting and creating a space where children feel safe to make wise decisions.
According to him, his daughter is in a relationship with a respectful and well-raised young man named Kobe, whom he described as “honourable, respectful, and loving.” He expressed pride in the fact that Kobe comes from a two-parent home and is doing well for himself.
“I’m so proud to teach her to be with an excellent Black young man with honours, respectful, loving, from good two-parent homes,” he added.
Teebillz also spoke about his efforts as a father, pointing out that raising a child in the United States, especially in private schools in Los Angeles, is not an easy task. He used the opportunity to appreciate his late mother and hoped she would be proud of the father he has become.

In another post shared on his Instagram story, the music executive revealed part of the conversation he had with his daughter’s boyfriend. When he asked Kobe what he liked about his daughter, the young man replied:

Teebillz was impressed by the maturity shown by Kobe and openly appreciated him, jokingly asking for his CashApp so he could send him something for being “a better man“ than he was at that age.
“God bless you, Kobe, for being a better man than me after talking to him… what’s your CashApp, Kobe? #ProudDad,” he wrote.
Teebillz rounded up his message by encouraging fellow parents to build honest and trusting relationships with their children. He believes that openness helps young people make good choices on their own.
“By being open-minded, we allow our children to explore, question, and discover their own truths. My daughter, my business,” he said.
The post has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many praising his parenting style while others expressed concerns. However, Teebillz remains firm in his belief that understanding and guidance are better than strict control in raising responsible children.
