First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Urges Parents to Stand Firm Against Bullying.

Senator Tinubu calls for a safe and caring environment for every Nigerian child

As Nigeria marks Children’s Day 2025, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has sent a heartfelt message to parents, guardians, and all Nigerians, urging everyone to take a strong stand against bullying among children. She emphasized that protecting children from bullying is not just the job of schools, but a shared responsibility for families and communities.

In her Children’s Day message, Oluremi Tinubu expressed her deep love for every child in Nigeria and reminded the nation that every child deserves to grow up in a safe, supportive, and loving environment. She highlighted this year’s theme, “Stand Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation,” as a call for everyone to work together to protect and empower the young people who represent Nigeria’s future.

She said;

“Whether it occurs in schools, in communities, or online, bullying leaves lasting wounds that hinders a child’s emotional, social, and academic development. As a mother, I call on all Nigerians to take an active stand against bullying. Let us teach our children that strength lies in compassion, and that true leadership begins with looking out for one another.”

Senator Tinubu pointed out that bullying can happen anywhere—at school, in the neighborhood, or even online. She explained that bullying can hurt a child’s feelings, confidence, and ability to learn. It can also affect how they relate to others and see themselves. That is why, she said, it is so important for adults to speak up and make sure children are protected.

Say NO to bullying.

The First Lady encouraged parents and guardians to talk to their children about kindness, respect, and standing up for others. She said that children should be taught that being strong means caring for others, not putting them down. She also called on teachers, school leaders, and community members to make sure schools and public spaces are safe and welcoming for all children.

Oluremi Tinubu’s message comes at a time when many children around the world face bullying, both in person and online. She reminded everyone that Children’s Day is not just a day to celebrate children, but also a time to remember the importance of children’s rights and well-being. She said that investing in children’s safety and happiness is the best way to build a better future for Nigeria.

She concluded her message by saying that every child deserves to grow up without fear, and that together, Nigerians can create a country where every child can dream, learn, and succeed.

Children’s Day is a special time to raise awareness about the needs and rights of children. It encourages everyone to support children’s healthy development and to speak out against anything that threatens their happiness and growth. With leaders like Senator Oluremi Tinubu championing the cause, there is hope that more children in Nigeria will have the safe and loving childhood they deserve.
