Nigerian Beauty Queen Joy Mojisola Raimi Begins Her Miss World 2025 Journey in India

Joy Raimi Represents Nigeria with Pride, Culture, and Compassion at the 72nd Miss World Pageant

Joy Mojisola Raimi, a 24-year-old graduate from the University of Port Harcourt, has arrived in Telangana, India, to represent Nigeria at the 72nd Miss World pageant. This year’s event brings together over a hundred contestants from around the world, and Joy is stepping onto the global stage with a mission to showcase not just beauty, but the true spirit and culture of Nigeria.

Joy is known for her passion for helping others. She leads The Love for Humanity Project, a grassroots initiative focused on spreading kindness and restoring faith in people’s daily lives.

Her participation in Miss World is not just about winning a crown, but about sharing values like compassion, courage, and commitment. Speaking about her experience so far, Joy described Miss World as “the Olympics of pageants,” and said she is “ready to embrace the experience and everything it brings.”

This year marks Nigeria’s 41st appearance at the Miss World pageant. The country’s history in the competition is highlighted by Agbani Darego’s victory in 2001, when she became the first Nigerian and first Black African to win the Miss World crown.

Joy said she is “proud to be part of this legacy,” and hopes to inspire young Nigerians to believe in themselves”.

Joy has been sharing updates from India, including her arrival and participation in cultural events.

During the naming ceremony, she wore a Gown which has a featured flowing lines inspired by CROSS RIVER, the gold details as a tribute to the northern royalty,a croral beads, beaded gele, horsetail whisk and a fan .

For the opening ceremony, she wore a special outfit that celebrated Nigeria’s diversity. The gown featured flowing lines inspired by Cross River ceremonial dress, gold details as a tribute to northern royalty, and coral beads and motifs from Edo and Igbo traditions. She completed her look with a beaded gele, a horsetail whisk, and a fan, all symbols of tradition and leadership. The shape of Africa was embroidered on her gown in green and red, representing growth, resilience, and unity

During the Hyderabad Heritage Walk, Joy wore a striking asooke outfit, proudly representing Nigerian culture. She said she is “carrying the essence of Nigerian culture and strength” with her throughout the competition.
