Sowore Claims 2027 Election Results Already Decided by Those in Power.
Activist says only real change, not elections, can save Nigeria

Nigerian activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has made a strong claim about the country’s next presidential election. In a recent interview, Sowore said he believes the results of the 2027 election have already been decided by people in authority, even before any votes are cast.
Sowore, who is known for his outspoken views and activism, said he does not trust the current election system in Nigeria. He told Vanguard newspaper that he thinks the 2027 results are already written and that the real solution for Nigeria is not another election, but a complete change in the way the country is run.
He explained,
“But if you’re asking about elections, I don’t believe in the current ballot system. The 2027 results are already written.”

Despite this, Sowore said he will still run for president in 2027. He said he has never stopped fighting for change, whether through campaigning, protesting, or going to court. Sowore believes that his efforts are about more than just elections—they are about standing up for what is right and pushing for a better Nigeria.
He also shared his views on the current state of the country. Sowore said that Nigerians made a big mistake by voting Bola Tinubu into office in 2023. He argued that President Tinubu’s government has made things worse for ordinary people, hurting the economy, education, and democracy.
Sowore did not hold back in his criticism, saying, “I said it before, and I’ll say it again: when Tinubu is done with this country, Nigerians will be begging to return to Buhari’s era. He has done irreparable damage—economically, socially, politically. He has crippled institutions, education, and democracy. Buhari killed Nigeria in eight years; Tinubu came, in two years he is burying it.”
The activist insisted that only a real rebellion against the current system can change Nigeria for the better. He said that simply voting in elections will not solve the country’s deep problems because, in his view, those in power have already decided what will happen.
Sowore’s comments have started a new debate in Nigeria about the fairness of elections and the future of democracy in the country. Some people agree with him and feel frustrated by the political system, while others believe that elections still matter and that change is possible through the ballot box.
As the 2027 election approaches, many Nigerians will be watching to see if Sowore’s predictions come true, or if the country can find a way to build a more open and fair democracy.
