Chelsea’s Adarabioyo Speaks Out: “I Never Said No to Nigeria” – Defender Shares Truth on Super Eagles Decision

Defender Says He’s Still Open to Super Eagles Invitation

Chelsea defender, Tosin Adarabioyo, has finally broken his silence about the rumours that he rejected a chance to play for Nigeria. The 27-year-old, who was born in London to Nigerian parents, said he has “never turned down Nigeria” and wants people to stop spreading false stories.

After Chelsea’s 4-1 victory over Real Betis in the UEFA Europa Conference League final, Adarabioyo used his post-match interview to clear the air.

The strong centre-back said,

“Both of those pieces of news are pretty false. I’ve never turned down Nigeria. And I’ve never had any conversations with them to say that I’ll be going to Nigeria.”

He stressed that he has not rejected Nigeria and there was “never any official talk where I said I will play for the Super Eagles.”

he said he has not rejected Nigeria

Adarabioyo explained that his main focus last season was on his club football. According to him,

“At the point of last season where there was a little bit of conversation, I told them I just want to focus on club football. I was in my last year at Fulham and I just wanted to have a solid running at Fulham. Now I’m at Chelsea. My first year which I wanted to concentrate on again.”

He said he wanted to “settle down at Chelsea and give my best for my new club before thinking about international football.”

Now, Adarabioyo has hinted that he is ready to make a decision about his international future. He said, “And I think now is going to be the time that I need to make a decision.”

This means fans may soon hear if he will choose to represent Nigeria or wait for a chance with England, where he has played at youth level.

For now, Adarabioyo is still eligible to play for both Nigeria and England. Many Nigerian football fans are hoping he will pick the Super Eagles and add more strength to the defence.

With his recent performances for Chelsea, he has shown he can be a big asset for any national team.

As the football world waits for his final decision, one thing is clear – Tosin Adarabioyo has not closed the door on Nigeria. He has promised to make his choice soon, and Nigerians everywhere will be watching closely to see if he finally wears the green and white jersey.
