Dangote Refinery Begins Fuel Delivery Nationwide August 15

Dangote Rolls Out Free Fuel Delivery to Boost Access Nationwide

Dangote is making headlines as the Dangote petroleum refinery has announced it will begin nationwide delivery of petrol and diesel from August 15, 2025. This move is set to change the face of fuel distribution in Nigeria, as the refinery will use 4,000 new compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered tankers to supply fuel to all parts of the country.

The Dangote group explained that the new tankers will help deliver petrol and diesel directly to petrol stations, manufacturers, telecom companies, and aviation operators. The company also said delivery will be free for buyers, which is expected to lower logistics costs and make fuel more affordable for Nigerians.

According to the management of Dangote petroleum refinery, this initiative is not just about business, but about supporting the Nigerian economy and government reforms. The company believes that by making fuel more available and affordable, it can help revive many fuel stations that have been shut down and improve energy access, especially in rural areas.

In a statement, the Dangote group said,

“We are committed to transforming Nigeria’s fuel supply chain and supporting the government’s drive for economic recovery. Our new CNG-powered tankers will not only cut costs but also reduce emissions and create jobs for thousands of Nigerians.”

The refinery’s plan to use CNG-powered vehicles is also seen as a step towards cleaner energy and environmental sustainability. By reducing the reliance on diesel-powered trucks, Dangote aims to help Nigeria meet its climate goals while also saving money for businesses and consumers.

The news has been welcomed by many industry experts and stakeholders, who say it could help stabilize fuel prices and reduce frequent shortages. Some petrol station owners have already expressed hope that the Dangote delivery system will make it easier for them to get fuel and serve their communities.

One station manager in Lagos said;

“This is the kind of innovation we need. If dangote can deliver fuel quickly and at lower cost, it will help everyone, especially those in remote areas.”

The Dangote petroleum refinery is Africa’s largest, with a capacity to process 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Since it began operations, there has been high anticipation about its impact on Nigeria’s fuel market. The start of nationwide delivery is seen as a major milestone.

Industry observers also note that Dangote’s move comes at a time when the government is pushing for more local production and less reliance on imported fuel. By supplying fuel directly from the refinery, Dangote is expected to help reduce the country’s import bill and strengthen the naira.

As the August 15 launch date approaches, Nigerians are watching closely to see how Dangote’s new delivery system will work in practice. Many hope it will bring an end to long queues and high fuel prices, while also creating new jobs and business opportunities.

With this bold step, Dangote is once again showing its commitment to innovation and national development. As the company prepares to roll out its fleet of CNG tankers, the eyes of the nation are on Dangote to deliver on its promises and drive positive change in Nigeria’s energy sector.
