Victor Osimhen Drops Fresh Hint as Chelsea Weigh Up Super Eagles Star in Shocking £145m Transfer Plan

One of the most talked-about names linked with Chelsea this summer is Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. Despite other options like Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike being considered, Osimhen remains a top target. The Nigerian international is expected to leave Napoli this summer, and his recent social media posts show he is relaxed and waiting for the right opportunity.

A source close to Chelsea said, 

“Osimhen does not appear to be someone that lives a quiet life. How he acts away from the pitch is similar to how he performs on it and Chelsea need more characters like that.” 

This shows that Osimhen’s personality and leadership are seen as valuable qualities by the club.

Osimhen’s experience at the highest level and his goal-scoring record make him stand out compared to younger strikers like Sesko and Ekitike. Napoli’s asking price has dropped recently, making him a more affordable option than before. 

The release clause is now reportedly between €75 and €81 million, which is more realistic for Chelsea. However, meeting Osimhen’s wage demands could be a challenge because Chelsea prefer to sign younger players with lower salaries to keep their wage structure balanced.

Still, if a compromise can be reached, signing Osimhen would be a move worth pursuing.

Chelsea’s transfer plans also include signing winger Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund. He has been a priority for the club, but after two rejected bids, Chelsea are exploring other options such as Mohammed Kudus from West Ham and Joao Pedro from Brighton. 

Kudus and Pedro together would cost about £145 million, which is a significant amount and may be too high for Chelsea’s budget. 

Gittens remains the preferred option because he is cheaper and fits the club’s plans better, but negotiations with Dortmund have yet to be finalized.

The club is also looking to add an experienced defender and a center-forward to provide more depth and competition in the squad.
